| The Southern Oklahoma Rural Transit System, or SORTS, is one of Big Five's largest programs with 57 vehicles operating primarily in Carter, Coal, Love and Bryan Counties. SORTS is funded in part by a grant from the Federal Transportation Administration in Washington D.C., along with State funding that accounts for approximately fifty percent of total operational cost with the balance being raised at the local level. |

| SORTS is truly a PUBLIC transportation service offering on demand service to anyone needing transportation. Our busses are in constant use for transit needs such as people needing rides to work, school, shopping, medical appointments, dining or just visiting friends. Also, SORTS meets ADA requirements with Wheel Chair accessible vans and buses available in all areas we serve. |

| Although SORTS primary service area is Carter, Coal, Love and Bryan counties many of our services reach far beyond these borders with the Sooner Ride and Work transit programs. With Sooner Ride SORTS provides transportation services to Medicaid eligible clients needing transportation for approved medical treatments ranging from regular Doctor visits to Dialysis and Cancer treatments. Many of these trips will go as far as Dallas or Tulsa and Oklahoma City. All at no cost to client. Our very popular work routes are geared to providing safe dependable transportation to clients to and from work every day. | Fares are nominal at $.75 for the elderly or disabled, and $1.50 for public per trip. General hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, Sooner Ride and Work routes are scheduled as they are needed including weekends and evenings. Additional public transportation is also available outside traditional hours as needed. Trips outside service area or beyond traditional service hours will include a fee of $1.35 per mile plus additional cost of $10.00 per hour if drive time exceeds one hour. An hourly cost may be used of $45.00 per hour or a combination of $1.35 per mile and/or $45.00 per hour. |

| SORTS also provides transportation links to Interstate transportation carriers in all the Counties we serve. Service to the city of Coalgate will include transportation to and from Interstate carriers in Durant upon request. Fees for such service will include a chare $25.00 per passenger. Anyone wishing transportation to or from interstate carriers, should call our office to schedule pickup at the numbers below.
